Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Impact Report: January 2023

In January 2023, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust confiscated 52 kilograms of ivory, made 91 arrests, and destroyed 674 snares. The team also discovered 11 cannabis plantations, 10 charcoal kilns, and 18 hideouts including 6 poachers’ hideouts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 46 wildlife cases with 15 of them being elephant-related and 23 of them being poaching-related.
