Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Impact Report: June 2023

In June 2023, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust confiscated 47 kilograms of bushmeat, 274 kilograms of ivory, made 56 arrests, and destroyed 1053 snares. The team also discovered 3 cannabis plantations, 29 charcoal kilns, 10 illegal livestock enclosures, and 12 poachers’ hideouts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 63 wildlife cases with 22 them being elephant-related and 23 of them being poaching-related.
