Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Impact Report: May 2023

In May 2023, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust confiscated 56 kilograms of bushmeat, 113 kilograms of ivory, made 293 arrests, and destroyed 572 snares. The team also discovered 2 cannabis plantations, 9 charcoal kilns, 45 illegal livestock enclosures, and 6 poachers’ hideouts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 33 wildlife cases with 11 of them being elephant-related and 12 of them being poaching-related.
