In October 2022, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust confiscated 137 kilograms of bushmeat, 21 kilograms of ivory, made 64 arrests, and destroyed 1445 snares. The team also discovered 28 livestock enclosures, 7 charcoal kilns, and 8 poachers’ hideouts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 45 wildlife cases with 10 of them being elephant-related and 6 of them being poaching-related.
