In May 2022, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust confiscated 8.8 kilograms of ivory, made 152 arrests, and destroyed 588 snares. The team also discovered 7 livestock bomas, 12 charcoal kilns, 13 hideouts, and 13 poachers’ hideouts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 52 wildlife cases with 9 of them being elephant-related and 13 of them being poaching-related.
