In September 2023, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s aerial unit flew 300 hours and covered 38,673 kilometers. The aerial unit was predominantly occupied with administering veterinary treatments, relocating wildlife, and solving human-elephant conflicts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 62 wildlife cases with 20 of them being elephant-related and 24 of them being poaching-related.
