In August 2022, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust confiscated 101 kilograms of bushmeat, 29.9 kilograms of ivory, made 83 arrests, and destroyed 1559 snares. The team also discovered 27 livestock bomas, 17 charcoal kilns, and 31 hideouts including 21 poachers’ hideouts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 40 wildlife cases with 9 of them being elephant-related and 20 of them being poaching-related.
