
In December 2022, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust confiscated 68 kilograms of bushmeat, 248.5 kilograms of ivory, made 129 arrests, and destroyed 272 snares. The team also discovered 44 livestock bomas, 1 charcoal kiln, 4 hideouts, and 5 poachers’ hideouts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 29 wildlife cases with 6 of them being elephant-related and 14 of them being poaching-related.
