In July 2022, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust confiscated 325 kilograms of bushmeat, 44 kilograms of ivory, made 78 arrests, and destroyed 1746 snares. The team also discovered 10 cannabis plantations, 6 charcoal kilns, and 23 hideouts including 14 poachers’ hideouts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 54 wildlife cases with 11 of them being elephant-related and 15 of them being poaching-related.
