In July 2023, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust confiscated 34 kilograms of bushmeat, 25.5 kilograms of ivory, made 33 arrests, and destroyed 1512 snares. The team also discovered 22 charcoal kilns, 36 makeshift camps, and 18 poachers’ hideouts. Their veterinary units attended to a total of 51 wildlife cases with 23 them being elephant-related and 22 of them being poaching-related.
